@ Karen, @ Sommer, @ Jennifer, @ Jess, @ Diane, @ Mary - thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving food traditions, too. And for the warm welcome to the Green Moms Carnival.

@ Jess, I am definitely a proponent of belated home-cooked Thanksgiving meals. Last year we had our turkey for Christmas. This year I'm making my favorite sides & pies throughout the month. Who needs a date on the calendar to say it's time to celebrate? :)

Whether we go out or stay in (the usual), what we all most look forward to is a stress-free confab and feast around the same table. Delicious food definitely helps, but good humor and the joy of being in each other's company are the real desserts on our menu. Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Ooh! I am jealous of your turkey (not that I could fit it into my freezer, which is jampacked with Polyface meat).

Back to your point, I bet it will be hard for you not to be whipping up one (or many) of your masterpieces. Hmmm...can you lock down Thanksgiving 2009? I think you're due. Perhaps you can also stage an alter-Thxgiving later this year, too. ;) And cousin love is always worth it.

I'm sorry you won't get to cook . . . I do our family Thanksgiving (although I'd much rather do Christmas Eve) and have to cook for 45! Although everybody brings a dish so it isn't that much work.

Welcome to Green Moms Carnival!
